This blog is about a 33 and 43 year old who became pregnant after two IVF cycles. We made many protocol and lifestyle changes with our second IVF you can read about on the sidebar. While we are basking in the hope of meeting our baby, our feet are planted firmly on infertile ground. Through surgeries, a DOR diagnosis, losing six embryos, and the miscarriage of a twin... if your life is still revolving around vials and needles... we hope to share our success story with you.

Mississippi Girl in California at 15 weeks

You'll never see a more displaced human in your life than a Mississippi girl on the freeways of Los Angeles.  My, my... the turns life can take.  I'm here again while that good looking man I'm married to works away his days.  We're enjoying these last few months of freedom together.  Hopefully in 5.5 months, freedom will be a thing of the past!

Before flying here, I turned in this painting to a local baby boutique I do custom work for.  This little girl has teal walls and her mom sent the the bumper pad and blanket to use for inspiration.  Sorry, again, for the cell phone pic. I have a few more to work on when we return to KS so I'll post those for you as well.

(Now that it's posted, the painting matches the blog quite nicely too : )

The irony of this business was not lost on me during two IVF's.  Talk about putting on your big girl panties and dealing with it...ugh...it's so nice not to have to face that giant at the moment.

I am all wrapped up in infertility this morning, the good and the bad.  I just read an UNBELIEVABLE  post by a blog friend who is finally expecting a baby after her 4th IVF.  She is opening a public blog soon, and let me just tell you, you'll never love to read any words more than hers.  Just the thought of 4 IVF's is enough to show us what kind of stuff she's made of.  I know you'll love her story!

Tomorrow we're hitting 15 weeks.  (I actually just typed the number 14 and had to correct it...still so unbelievable!)  I got a call from my mom letting me know that my first cousin who is due almost the same time as me went in for a regular OB appointment which ended with a D&C at 8:30 last night after no heart beat or blood flow could be detected.  Talk about a gut check.  When will we ever be safe?  I dreamed about her all night and how my worst nightmare was now her reality on this Tuesday morning.  She miscarried her last baby as well.  Just another reminder that this baby is no less than a miracle. I'm sure no one who's battled infertility really needs a reminder.

I have started contemplating belly pics, so it shouldn't be long before they are up for your viewing pleasure.  Again with the camera phone...This isn't really a belly pic, but this was taken about two hours after I got my BFP news.  You might remember that M came home from work to tell me the news (I asked the nurse to call him instead).  I took this and sent it to him when he returned to work.  I bought this shirt to surprise him after the results of our first IVF (negative).  Silly girl.  But, six months later...it finally fulfilled its destiny.

Have a great Tuesday and rest of the week!  We're quickly approaching the one month countdown to finding out the sex of Baby H!  Woo hoo!

I love that painting and you are so right it fits perfectly with your blog! You are truly talented and so strong for continuing with your paintings whilst struggling with IF. I don't think many people could have coped. Are you going to do any artwork for your baby's room?

Yaay for 15 weeks!! I cannot wait to see your belly pics, make sure you take plenty and every week, it's so much fun to look back at your own belly progression!

I am so sorry to hear about your cousin's news, I am keeping her in my prayers. It's just heart-breaking.
